Yo samplers! Check out the last part of the Native Session at the ADE 2015 (Amsterdam Dance Event). In the beginning of this 1.5 hour video Comfort Fit (Lead Product Specialist of NI’s Machine) takes you on a journey through the history of sampling, from the invention of the Phonograph by Edison to the invention of the Fairlight CMI sampler (one of the first samplers). He explains the evolution of sampling, from the analog to digital world and it’s emerging legal challenges with copyright management. After heading over to some live presentation (Comfort Fit rocks!), the video continues with some interesting interviews with Dan Zaccagnino (Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library), the legendary Kenny Dope and Tony Nwachukwu (Attica Blues) about their relationship to sampling, hardware and making beats. Sit back and enjoy! We did!
